Jonathan Ridge Landside, Danville, California - A landslide occurred on the 20-feet high channel slope between Jonathan Ridge Drive (a residential street) and West Alamo Creek.  The slide repair scheme consisted of excavating the slide debris, creating near-level benches into the undisturbed material below the slide plane, installing subdrains and reconstructing the slope. Hultgren-Tillis Engineers provided geotechnical conclusion and recommendations regarding geotechnical aspects, including assessing the capacity of the existing cantilevered pier wall at the head of the slide, assessing the applicability of a structural solution to stabilizing the slide, developing recommendations for stabilizing the slope, and preparing plans, technical specifications and an engineer’s cost estimate to complete the repair.
